Institute Pró-Saber SP: Support for activities
In a new funding cycle, the ABCD Trust supports Pró-Saber’s routine activities in Paraisópolis, including the library and the Read and Play project.

Law no. 14.254/2021
After a decade of continuous advocacy work and technical support led by the ABCD Institute and ABCD trustees, Federal Law No. 14,254/21 is enacted, which provides for complete care for students with dyslexia, ADHD and other learning disorders.

Clinic Goia (CAISM Vila Mariana): Seed investment
The ABCD Trust invests in the creation of the Goia Clinic, which provides mental health services as part of the support for activities at the Center for Integrated Mental Health Care (CAISM Vila Mariana), in the Department of Psychiatry of the Federal University of São Paulo (Unifesp).

Pandemic: EduEdu and Todos Aprendem Expands
With the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, the ABCD Trust invests in improved access to the ABCD Institute’s resources: expansion of EduEdu to support parents, guardians, and teachers during remote education; and free availability of the online course Todos Aprendem for elementary school teachers.

Pandemic: Support for the Pró-Saber SP Institute
In the context of a pandemic, the ABCD Trust provides financial support to Pró-Saber SP for the distribution of food aid and reading and play kits to families in Paraisópolis, in the outskirts of São Paulo.

JHU: Innovation in robotic surgery
The ABCD Trust begins its support for the Brady Urological Institute, affiliated with the Johns Hopkins Hospital in the United States, for the development of robotic surgery.

Support for Bill 402/2008
With technical support from the ABCD Institute and political support from the ABCD Trust, the first version of the bill on the diagnosis and treatment of dyslexia in early education is presented in the Senate.

ABCD Institute Team
The direction of the institution strengthens itself as a collaborative and horizontal organization: Nicolas de Camaret, a technology specialist and one of the trustees of the ABCD Trust, takes over as executive director; and Juliana Amorina, previously technical coordinator, becomes chief executive officer.

The ABCD Trust begins its relationship with the Laboratory of Genetic Neurobiology at Johns Hopkins University, United States, directed by psychiatrist, professor and researcher Russell L. Margolis. It then began to fund the laboratory’s research strategy, which also includes studies conducted with the National Institutes of Health.
