More than just financial, the support of the ABCD Charitable Trust is an investment in the dreams of people who are fighting for a better society.

Seeing these dreams come true is the return on our investment.

We seek to identify synergies among the supported projects to create a fertile environment of collaboration. This strategy helps the project to best leverage their work, gain autonomy, and achieve real results.

When a project is supported by the ABCD Trust, it doesn’t just receive financial resources: it becomes part of a collaborative ecosystem. The ABCD Trust builds bridges among projects, organizations and people who share interests and dreams, and this has always been vital to the success of the ABCD Institute’s work.

Juliana Amorina, CEO of the ABCD Institute

The ABCD Trust was absolutely instrumental in believing in an innovative idea (mental health prevention) implemented by a group dedicated to fostering projects otherwise not considered by agencies. With resources and knowledge transfer, ABCD Trust’s four years’ worth of support allowed us to develop a scalable and autonomous training program.

Rodrigo Bressan, Professor in the Department of Psychiatry, Paulista School of Medicine, Unifesp and President of the Ame Sua Mente Institute

Support from the ABCD Trust, including support for students, junior scientists, research staff and laboratory costs, has led to a number of scientific advances. In short: ABCD Trust funding has been fundamental for our work!

Russell L. Margolis, Director of the Laboratory of Genetic Neurobiology, affiliated with the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences of the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine

The ABCD Charitable Trust has been instrumental in supporting organizations which have changed the way in which learning differences are identified, viewed and supported in Brazil. It has also identified opportunities to fund world-leading medical research and teaching. In the future, it will continue to look for innovative ways to improve opportunities for young people in Brazil, especially those facing particular difficulties.

Robin Vos, solicitor specializing in charity investments at the British firm Macfarlanes LLP and Trustee of the ABCD Charitable Trust

The ABCD Trust has contributed significantly to awareness about the cause of dyslexia in Brazil. Outside of Brazil, its donations contribute to research and development of initiatives in the field of mental health.

Marcela Bastos, founder of Coruja Educação and the Márcio Thomaz Bastos Legacy Project, Trustee of the ABCD Charitable Trust and Associate of the ABCD Institute

It is very important that society reverts part of its profits to human resource training, research and innovation, and the expansion of access to quality health care. The ABCD Trust’s funding was fundamental to support the intervention offered in schools in our randomized study, including the purchase of musical instruments and partial transport costs of music teachers visiting our schools.

Jair Mari, Professor and Head of the Department of Psychiatry, Paulista School of Medicine, Unifesp

In 2021, the ABCD Trust’s contribution accounted for about 10% of our total expenditure. That’s a significant amount for an organization of our size, which needs to continually pursue a range of partners to continue. The trust-based philanthropy practiced by the ABCD Trust makes all the difference, because it gives us the freedom to choose what we consider most important.

Maria Cecilia Lins, Founder and Executive Director of Pró-Saber SP

I am very proud to participate in the history of the ABCD Institute, the social organization that has done the most for dyslexia since 2009. Nothing compares to the impact that the ABCD Institute has made on all fronts in which it acts: in the creation of leading centers, in supporting families and educators, and in working for adequate public policies.

Ana Luiza Navas, Professor in the Speech Therapy program at the Santa Casa School of Medical Sciences of São Paulo (FCMSCSP) and Founding Associate of the ABCD Institute
